Your first visit includes a comprehensive 90-minute exam that’s designed to look beyond the surface. Dr. Dat and our team take a whole-health approach to dentistry, screening not just for cavities, but for functional and systemic issues that could affect your long-term health and comfort.
What to Expect at Your New Patient Exam
During your first visit with Dat Complete Dentistry, we’ll perform a full diagnostic workup, which may include:
- Oral cancer screening (head and neck)
- Joint and muscle evaluation, including TMJ palpation
- Bite assessment (occlusion in centric relation)
- Jaw range of motion testing
- Ultrasound imaging of the TMJ
- Airway screening and sleep apnea evaluation
- Gingival and periodontal assessment
- 3D digital scan of your teeth
- Caries risk assessment
- Digital X-rays to detect decay or other biological concerns
If time permits, we’ll complete a dental cleaning at the end of your exam. You’ll also have time to review your results in detail and ask questions. We’ll walk through our dentist's findings together, outlining any areas of concern and recommending a step-by-step treatment plan tailored to your needs.
